Gino’s employ over 30 local technical, management and administrative staff. A long term Host Employer for the Motor Trade Association of Western Australia (MTA WA), the company provides on the job training for 12 apprentices (7 paint, 5 panel).
High levels of customer service and quality repairs are due to the company’s investment in such technology and in staff training, with training expenditure at approximately 9% of the annual payroll.
Taking a Leadership Role in Industry
In 2017, Aaron Scagliotta (COO) initiated and hosted a recruitment drive and information session encouraging interested men and women of all backgrounds and ages to consider a career, through an apprenticeship, in the automotive industry. In conjunction with the MTA WA, this event resulted in Gino’s providing paid work experience trials resulting in the eventual selection of 5 successful apprenticeship candidates. These 5 are now part of the team.
Basil’s involvement as a member, often in leadership roles, with MTA WA and Automotive Institute of Technology (formerly MITA) has seen him promoting ongoing improvements and changes in the provision of quality training for those seeking a career in the many different areas of the automotive industry. The importance of quality training is reflected in the company’s training plans. Onsite and external training courses ensure both the customer service team and workshop teams at Gino’s remain abreast of the latest technology and expertise in the special equipment and procedures required to provide the best standard of repairs and customer service.
