FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can Gino’s perform repair work for any insurance company?

We work with most of the major companies and have worked hard to establish good business relationships with them as we do with all our clients.

All Car Craft members operate with fair and reasonable charges that reflect our investments in our processes, procedures and staff. This commitment to excellence in equipment and staff involves costs which most insurers accept as normal business practice designed to provide the best customer service and quality repair for each of our clients.

Can I tell my insurance company where I want my vehicle repaired?

Most insurers will offer a choice of repairer and it’s highly likely that we provide our services to your insurer. If your insurer tells you that you must use a certain repair business, you can always ask for clarification and/or suggest your own particular choice.

Consumers today are usually aware that like any business providing a product or service to their customers, all repair businesses are required to stand by their work.  The clients and insurers who use our services are secure in the knowledge that all our work is guaranteed.
Consumer confidence in our ability to provide quality service and repairs is backed by the knowledge that our company and staff possess the required Motor Vehicle Repairer Business License (MRB 268) and the individual Motor Vehicle Repairer License.

What if my insurer wants a second quote?

Most insurers only require one quote, which we are happy to provide for those insurers with whom we have a working relationship.  Normally we do not provide second quotes.  If we are able to meet a request for a second quote, there is normally a charge, reimbursed on completion of repairs.  This is due to the time and care taken and the process involved in carrying out a thorough assessment and preparation of a quote covering all repairs and parts.

Can I claim against the other party’s insurer?

If the accident was clearly the fault of another party, you will have a strong claim but it is always a smoother process to claim through your own company and let them make the counter claim.   Proceeding through your own insurer is usually more convenient and time effective for you as your insurer is working directly with you and your repairer. In dealing with a third party, you may not have the same flexibility in choice of repairer and in having the repairs carried out in a timely fashion.

Once you have my car, how long will the repairs take?

Our estimators are usually able to give our clients an accurate time frame for how long a particular repair is likely to take.  We aim to carry out all our repairs to the highest standard and with the minimum of inconvenience to our clients.   Most repairs are commenced and completed within the time frame discussed with our clients at the time of assessment and /or when the vehicle is booked in for repairs.  Many factors determine when repairs can commence and how long the process will take.  Some factors which can impact on some repairs:

  1. The complexity of the repairs which can mean that some damage may not be fully visible until the vehicle is stripped.

  2. Parts availability, especially if they need to be sourced from interstate or overseas.

  3. Unexpected changes to workflow schedules due to staffing  or availability of sublet repairs
Our clients are kept informed of any changes as soon as possible to minimise any inconvenience.

Are you really concerned about the environment?

We have children and grandchildren too. And we want to leave the earth in a fit state for them. Our commitment is reflected in the fact that in 2002, we were one of only two accident repairers among a group of the 10 Inaugural Automotive Businesses to earn the Motor Trades Association’s highly regarded Green Stamp accreditation.

Our environmental management plan ensures we manage environmental risks, collect and store waste products for recycling and/or safe disposal by licensed operators and look for ways to improve our environmental management practices, in accordance with the Green Stamp program. You can learn more by clicking here.
